The 6th Offshore Wind Support Structure Design and Construction Symposium was held in Hong Kong
On June 15,2024, The 6th China Offshore Wind Support Structure Design and Construction Symposium was successfully held in Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The conference was hosted by the National Engineering & Technology Research Center for Wind Power and the China Offshore Wind Association, affiliated to CAOE, and hosted by Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Goldwind Technology Co., Ltd., and Taichang Group Co., Ltd. The conference gathered experts, scholars and enterprise representatives in the field of offshore wind power at home and abroad to discuss the cutting-edge technology and development trend of offshore wind power support structure design and construction, so as to inject new impetus into the sustainable development of China 's offshore wind power industry.
At the beginning of the meeting, Zhai Endi, director of the National Engineering & Technology Research Center for Wind Power and secretary-general of the China Offshore Wind Association, affiliated to CAOE, warmly welcomed the participants. He said that this meeting brought together many professional scholars and enterprise representatives in the field of offshore wind power engineering technology. He hoped that through this meeting, the participants could broaden their minds, deeply discuss the cutting-edge technologies and challenges of offshore wind power support structure design and construction, and jointly seek effective ways to solve the problems.
Technological innovation, cost reduction and efficiency increase are the key to the development of offshore wind power. Cai Shaokuan, Chairman of China Offshore Wind Association, affiliated to CAOE, believes that with the continuous increase of installed capacity, new installed capacity and new technological breakthroughs are constantly made. Supporting infrastructure structure and scientific research, design and construction technology will become the top priority of project cost. Academician Teng Jinguang of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Academician Hou Baorong of the Chinese Academy of Engineering delivered speeches in the form of on-site or video respectively. During this period, Academician Hou Baorong said that the offshore wind power support structure involves many disciplinary capabilities, including marine engineering, structural engineering, and material science. The industry should strengthen basic research, deeply explore the mechanism and law of the marine environment and support structure, and provide strong support for technological innovation. Cao Zhigang, Group President of Goldwind Science&Technology Co.,Ltd., said that scientific and technological innovation, standard innovation, openness and mutual trust are the driving forces to ensure the high-quality development of offshore wind power. Goldwind Science&Technology Co.,Ltd. is willing to work with the majority of wind power partners to open up to each other, supervise each other, deepen mutual trust, and jointly promote the three-chain integration development of the industrial chain, innovation chain and standard chain.
The conference lasts for one day. Lin Yifeng, chief engineer of Shanghai Investigation, Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. and vice president of the Offshore Wind Power Branch of the China Association of Ocean Engineering Consultants, and Zhao Shengxiao, a senior engineer at PowerChina Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited and deputy secretary-general of the Offshore Wind Power Branch of the China Association of Ocean Engineering Consultants, respectively delivered speeches on technological innovation and application for safe and efficient development of offshore wind power under complex environmental conditions, and the current situation and revision of industry standards for the foundation design of large-scale offshore wind turbines. They also expressed that developing an industry technical standard system is an important guarantee for ensuring the quality and safety of offshore wind power facilities.
The morning theme report was chaired by Dong Delan, Deputy Chief Engineer of Northwest Survey and Design Institute Co., Ltd., China Electric Power Construction Group. This paper focuses on the structural dynamics and engineering optimization of offshore wind turbine support system, the optimal solution & design key technology analysis of suction pile / anchor shallow overburden foundation, the development and application of steel-concrete hybrid support structure for wind turbines.
The afternoon agenda mainly focuses on the topics of new offshore wind power composite materials, offshore wind power single pile foundation research, and integrated structural design. Li Rongfu, Deputy Minister of Marine Structure Technology Department of Jinfeng Science and Technology and Deputy General Manager of Zhejiang Jinfeng, presided over the report. The experts shared the innovative ideas, optimization methods, difficulties and solutions of construction technology in the design of offshore wind power support structures and had a heated discussion with the participants.
The technical sharing session of the conference was chaired by Zhu Songye, Professor of Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Deputy Dean of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Experts, scholars and industry colleagues drew on the strengths of others and pooled their wisdom to dig deep into the details of the design and construction of offshore wind power support structures. From the perspective of cost and quality, the purpose and effect of the design are considered in multiple dimensions. The present situation and development direction of the structural design and construction technology of offshore wind power are discussed with the participants, which provides a strong support for breaking through the technical bottleneck.
This seminar provides extensive and in-depth communication opportunities for participants through conference modes such as focusing and interaction, aiming at cutting-edge technical problems such as offshore wind power support structure design, foundation type, pile slide and hammer rejection. By sharing practical experience and showing the latest achievements, it provides strong support for technological innovation and industrial upgrading in the industry. At the same time, it is of great significance to promote scientific research cooperation, strengthen personnel training, and promote the cross-integration development of offshore wind power engineering technology.
