On May 17, 2025, during the 7th Wind Power Support Structure Seminar held in Chongqing, the China Offshore Wind Power Industry Development Report (2024), compiled under the auspices of the Offshore Wind Power Branch of China Association of Ocean Engineering Consultants, was officially released.

By the end of 2024, China's cumulative grid-connected offshore wind power capacity had reached 41.27 GW (with 4.04 GW newly connected to the grid in 2024), accounting for 50% of the world's total cumulative grid-connected offshore wind power capacity. China has developed the capability for large-scale offshore wind energy resource development, and established a mature industrial chain covering survey and design, complete machine manufacturing, foundation construction, wind turbine hoisting, and professional operation and maintenance. The industry is also characterized by accelerated model iteration, advances in installation and construction technologies, and improvement of supporting infrastructure.

Since 2021, the Offshore Wind Power Branch of China Association of Ocean Engineering Consultants has compiled the China Offshore Wind Power Industry Development Report for four consecutive years. This is an annual industry report that comprehensively depicts the development of China's offshore wind power sector. The 2024 edition consists of 11 chapters, providing a full-scale review and summary of China's offshore wind power industry in 2024 from multiple dimensions, including industry development scale, wind turbine equipment and foundations, wind farm construction and aftermarket services, offshore wind power vessels and construction, as well as deep-sea exploitation and industrial diversified integration. With detailed data and in-depth insight analysis, the report provides decision-making support for governments, enterprises and investors.
